Chelsea Goal of the Season 11-12

I know it is a little late but thought I would do my own top three goals of last season and here it is.

3. Ramires vs Barcelona – Nou Camp. You all know what this goal meant for our season, 2-0 and down to men against Barcelona in their own back yard, Chelsea manage to create half a chance as lampard slides in Ramires in behind the Barcelona defence. The Brazilian catches Victor Valdes off his line and chips the keeper with the most incredible grace as only a member of the Brazilian national team could possess.

2. Drogba vs Tottenham – Wembley. It was a close call as to which Drogba I should include in the list, the Champions League final goal will go down as the most memorable for the obvious reasons but this epitomised Drogba at Chelsea. Strength, speed and an uncanny ability to find the net when it mattered. The long ball up field is chested down by the Ivorian and as he turns William Gallas with consummate ease, Drogba unleashes a volley with his left foot that leaves Cudicini with no chance.

1. Mata vs Manchester United – Stamford Bridge. This was just an incredible goal. The cross from Fernando Torres is perfect and then the technique that follows from Juan Mata is sensational as his volley rifles into the roof of the net. Leaving De Gea thankful it didn’t come closer to him.
