News Roundup: Mata on Napoli, Drogba to China? Return of Jose?

A look at the main headlines regarding Chelsea today: Mata has his say on Chelsea’s chances in progressing to the next round of the Champions league, Nicolas Anelka believes that Didier Drogba will be joining him in China and finally is Jose Mourinho destined for a return to Chelsea?

Juan Mata believes Chelsea have a real chance in progressing to the quarter-finals of the Champions league, speaking about the upcoming fixture –                                  “Wednesday is like a final and we have to win at least 2-0, I think we can do it, we are confident after Saturday and we will try to give 100 per cent to qualify,” said the 23-year-old.                                                                                                                                        “In football nothing is impossible and at Stamford Bridge we have had good results in the Champions League, so I think we can do it. All the supporters will be cheering us, it’s a final for us, and we can do it.”                                                                                                  This will undoubtedly be the club’s biggest challenge this season and Napoli come in to the fixture in good form after a 6-3 win against bottom of the league Cagliari. However if there last fixture was anything to go by, their defence is unstable at best and just what Chelsea need to go through.

Is Didier Drogba’s future decided? Nicolas Anelka seems to think so, the ex-Chelsea player feels that Drogba will be joining him in China come summer time.                             “It is difficult for me to say much at this time, but I speak with him on a regular basis and I expect him to come to Shanghai,” Anelka’s comments regarding Drogba, who on this weekend celebrated his 100th Premier League goal and 34th birthday.

Finally, the news that Jose Mourinho has bought a house in London rumoured to have been previously owned by none other than Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, is this a sign that ‘The Special One’ is on his way back to the Bridge? Most fans can only hope so. If he is to come back, what will be made of the reports that one of the conditions was to bring Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid to Stamford Bridge? The former World Player of the Year could single handedly rejuvenate that Chelsea squad.
